The komboloi today
Nowadays the komboloi is also a way to distinguish oneself. Some kombolois are realy a symbol of social status, people parade with them. The kombolois become more populair, with young people, elderly man or woman. Sometimes people have more than 1 komboloi, they can choose the one that fits their mood or their clothes.
A komboloi with his beads is just like live, full of happiness, with laughter, with tears, with falling and standing up again. Fortunately the komboloi is round and when you miss a bead you can easily start over again. Also there is no end and no beginning.
